Werner Paddles Apex Stand Up Paddle Review

Meet the Werner Apex paddle.  Not only is she sexy and sleek, but she packs a mean punch too.  Her performance will power you quickly with maximum comfort, control, and efficiency.  I’ll show you why starting at the top and working our way down.

As a petite woman, I chose a small fit handle for an appropriate fit- which means I can have a lighter grip for proper ergonomics, reduced fatigue, and better technique. It feels comfortably nested in my palm, giving me more control and makes switching sides smoother and faster.

For these same reasons I chose a small fit shaft, in classic, which has a bit more flex.  This reduces impact to save energy for longer duration paddles and races.  like Goldilocks and the 3 bears They really nailed the texture - not too slippery or too sticky, but just right.  And Every paddle is custom cut to your desired length.

There is a 10 degree blade offset - making it versatile for a variety of uses and conditions - from flat water to surf, racing to touring, it gives you the best all-around angle for forward paddling and bracing.

The blade design is what really struck me when I first tried the Apex.  The unique pocket on the back gives a whole new meaning to “power face”.  It has a noticeable unwavering grip on the water - so every forward stroke feels strong and controlled.  The catch and release feel seamless and quiet - like the perfect blend of power and grace.  Available in 3 sizes, you’ll find the perfect fit.  The lime green graphic looks great and makes it stand out in dark water or amongst the crowd in a race.

Combining foam core and carbon, the Apex is extremely light and buoyant so you can paddle longer and faster.  It truly feels like an extension of my body - every stroke is smooth and effortless.  I enjoy using it for touring because I cover more distance with less fatigue.  I use it most often for on water workouts because I reach a higher cadence and increased heart rate with ease. And weighing in at just 15.5 oz, it’s a true light-weight contender and will give you the leading edge on any stand up paddle competition.  So if you’re looking for ultimate performance in your paddle, choose the Werner Paddles Apex.
